International Congress on Innovation in Atmospheric Water Collection and Environmental Restoration Techniques

This special technical event, promoted by Cabildo de Gran Canaria (Spain) as part of LIFE NIEBLAS project and co-financed by the LIFE Programme, will be held on 17 and 18 October.

This event aims to showcase and join efforts in regard to climate change mitigation and adaptation through the development of innovative reforestation and atmospheric water harvesting methods.

LIFE NIEBLAS aims to minimise impact derived from greenhouse gas emissions within environmental restoration projects, increasing their implementation success while reducing costs. As a result, new devices have been developed in terms of fog water collectors improving harvesting capacity while increasing ease of use and deployment versatility.

This congress will be structured in several talks, networking spaces, a poster exhibition, a field visit and exchange of experiences.

On Thursday 17 October the conference will be held at INFECAR, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with scientific and technical presentations delivered in three blocks. Spaces for round tables and poster exhibitions will also be provided for all attendees to interact.

On Friday 18 October the activity will begin with a field visit to LIFE NIEBLAS, at Barranco de La Virgen in Valleseco, to learn more about the work carried out and the results obtained during this project. The activity will end with a networking event to promote the exchange of knowledge between projects of different nature enhancing collaboration.

We are opening a registration period from 1 May to 28 June 2024 for you to submit your technical proposal for public talk and/or poster. Please fill in the form in the link below along with a brief summary (300 words max.) for your proposed talk and/or poster.

Proposals will be evaluated from 1 to 15 July. Selected talks and/or posters will be contacted thereafter. Once this selection process has been completed, a new registration period for those who wish to attend this international congress as general public will be opened and further details will be provided.
