Description
The LIFE HaloSep team has come up with a way to treat and recycle some of the hazardous waste coming from incineration plants, creating a circular economy in the process. They have spent the last 18 months building the HaloSep process at Vestforbrænding - one of Denmark’s largest waste-to-energy plants.
The facility is now finished and to mark this major milestone, LIFE HaloSep will hold an online inauguration event on 17 November.
Angelo Salsi, the LIFE Programme’s Head of Unit at the European Commission, will give an overview of why LIFE funds these kinds of waste management projects. Angelo will also present how LIFE HaloSep contributes to the EU’s Waste Framework Directive and the EU Circular Economy Action Plan.
Politicians, environment agencies, NGOs, senior managers at CB Stena and Vestforbrænding, as well as key EU officials, will also feature.
