The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) and the Directorate General for Climate Action organised a session as part of the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2021 Extended Programme.
Leading up to EUSEW 2021, which took place online from 25 to 29 October, a series of panels, workshops, and talks were planned between 11 to 22 October to warm up the discussions, where attendees had the chance to tackle key questions surrounding the future of Europe’s sustainable energy. If you missed our session “Delivering on the European Green Deal: Financing clean technology with the Innovation Fund” you can now watch the replay.
The first calls for projects under the Innovation Fund was launched, attracting significant interest from companies of all sizes looking for funding of their clean-tech projects across all sectors and in all EU Member States. The session gave an overview of projects to be funded by the first small-scale call, highlighting their contribution to the European Green Deal. A Member State and a private investor shared as well their experience in funding clean-tech projects. Additionally, the EIB present its role in providing Project Development Assistance (PDA) to promising but immature projects.
