Since its creation 2003, the CIVITAS Forum has been a dynamic conference for smart, inclusive and sustainable urban mobility. The Forum welcomes city representatives, policymakers, practitioners, planners, academics and mobility enthusiasts from across Europe and beyond to exchange ideas, showcase innovation and build lasting connections.
This year, the theme of the CIVITAS Forum is, 'Roots & Routes: Moving Forward to Competitive, Connected and Resilient Urban Mobility!'. CINEA will be actively involved in the programme, which will be structured around three key themes reflecting key priorities for sustainable urban mobility in Europe:
- Competitive Mobility – Boosting innovation, funding and skills for economic growth
- Connected Mobility – Linking people, data and transport networks seamlessly
- Resilient Mobility – Building inclusive, healthy and climate-ready systems

Description
CIVITAS is one of the flagship programmes helping the European Commission achieve its ambitious mobility and transport goals, and in turn those of the EU Green Deal. It does this by acting as a network of cities, for cities, dedicated to sustainable urban mobility.
The CIVITAS initiative is funded by DG Transport and Mobility, with project implementation overseen by CINEA. Since its launch in 2002, CIVITAS has advanced research and innovation in sustainable urban mobility and enabled local authorities to develop, test and roll out measures via a range of projects.
