The Representation of the Free State of Bavaria to the EU hosted the 2nd Bavarian Natura 2000 Summit. This event, organised as part of the ‘LIFE living Natura 2000’ project, aimed to promote the Natura 2000 sites in the region and to foster collaboration between EU and Bavaria policymakers, along with key political representatives and regional experts.
On 8 November, the evening reception featured ceremonial speeches by high-ranking political representatives of the EU and Bavaria, a panel discussion with the Natura 2000 ambassadors, Dr Auguste von Bayern (ornithologist), Pia Amofa-Antwi (actor) and Alexander Huber (mountaineer). Attendees could also enjoy a buffet with culinary delights from Bavaria and Bavarian music.
On 9 November, the summit continued with further panel discussions, presentations and two poster exhibition circuit sessions centred around ‘Natura 2000 in the EU’.
