Description
The study will produce an analysis of barriers, good practices and recommendations with the aim of strengthening the European Commission’s knowledge-based approach to early and continuous assessment of circularity, sustainability, EU resilience and technological autonomy aspects of the development process for emerging technologies. The focus is on energy supply within the clean energy transition in the context of the EU framework programme for research and innovation, with a specific focus on Destination 3 (Sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply) of Cluster 5 (Energy, Climate and Mobility). The study will propose a methodology for assessing emerging technologies’ contribution to circularity, sustainability, EU resilience and technological autonomy at each technology readiness level (TRL) in the context of the Horizon Europe work programmes.
