Description
On 4 December 2025, the European Commission opened the Innovation Fund 2025 Heat Auction, with a total budget of €1 billion.
The auction uses a competitive, market-based approach and follows a pay-as-bid mode. The bids are ranked by price in euro per tonne of CO2 abated and awarded until the available budget is allocated.
All information and documentation related to the call are available on the Funding & Tenders Portal, including the call text and application forms.
The deadline to apply is 19 February 2026, 17:00 CET.
Info day
To provide better guidance to applicants during the submission process, CINEA and DG CLIMA will organise an online Info Day on 10 December. Participants will learn more about the auction, the award criteria and ask questions.
