Horizon Europe: EUR 9 million available for projects supporting critical elements for energy security of grid and storage technologies

Following the adoption of the Horizon Europe 2025 work programme, the European Commission has launched a new call for project proposals to support research and innovation in the area of sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply, that covers activities targeting a sustainable, secure and competitive energy supply, including in the areas of renewable energy; energy system, grids and storage; and Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS). This specific topic targets projects supporting critical elements for energy security of grid  and storage technologies.

The total indicative budget available is EUR 9 million. The deadlines for submissions are 2 September 2025 (first stage) and 31 March 2026 (second stage).
