After three and a half years of dedicated research, the co-creative modelling research project, PARIS REINFORCE, has ended in November 2022 with an impressive track record of modelling analyses based on integrated assessment models, high-impact scientific publications and the I2AM PARIS platform, now established as a central vessel of the international modelling community.

During its lifetime, the project also fed hundreds of scenarios into the IPCC AR6 WGIII and the European Environment Agency's Scientific Advisory Board on Climate Change processes.

The main purpose of the project was to support the design of climate policies, in light of the ever-challenging context and domain of climate change and action.

One of the main objectives of Paris Reinforce was to create the open-access and transparent data exchange platform I2AM PARIS, in order to support the effective implementation and preparation of future Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), the development of 2050 decarbonisation strategies, and the reinforcement of the 2023 Global Stocktake.

The platform is now up and running and ready to be passed on to four new EU-funded projects that will be operating and sustaining it: H2020 projects NDC ASPECTS and ENCLUDE, and Horizon Europe projects IAM COMPACT and DIAMOND.

Summing up its activities and successes, Paris Reinforce proudly presents some very appealing numbers. Over the three and half years, the project has used over 20 different models to assess policies and develop realistic mitigation pathways at all geographic scales; produced more than 85 high-impact scientific publications and participated in 43 conferences; released 15 infographics, 2 videos, and 3 targeted policy briefs, and published (or was discussed in) 43 articles in news media. All this with the input and support of over 3,000 stakeholders, with whom the project interacted in numerous national and regional workshops and deliberation dialogues.
