How EVERY1 is enabling citizen engagement in the energy transition

The energy transition is well underway, yet not everyone feels part of this change. The EVERY1 project, funded by Horizon Europe Energy, seeks to address this gap by enabling European citizens to actively participate in the digital energy transition.

Through an in-depth analysis of stakeholder profiles examining existing knowledge, information-seeking behaviours and common challenges, EVERY1 defines practical use cases that highlight the knowledge and skills required for meaningful engagement in the energy landscape.

These insights inform the development of tailored learning pathways and accessible training materials, ranging from online courses and information booklets to interactive tools.

The EVERY1 Knowledge Hub

A major achievement of the project is the launch of the EVERY1 Knowledge Hub, a growing platform designed to support anyone working on or learning about the digital energy transition.

It brings together EVERY1’s resources on the digital energy transition:

  • Learning pathways to discover an extensive array of essential topics, from foundational knowledge to advanced applications. Each pathway is designed to provide a cohesive learning experience, equipping users with the skills and insights for the evolving energy landscape.
  • Learning materials, including online courses, videos, information booklets, case studies and games.
  • Tool repository to support understanding and active participation in the energy transition. The repository includes tools for a wide range of uses – from analysing energy consumption and optimising systems to exploring mobility solutions and assessing economic impacts.

The Knowledge Hub is intended as a practical resource for a wide audience, supporting the exploration of key themes such as energy communities, digital inclusion, public space planning or flexibility services, ensuring knowledge and tools are both accessible and adaptable.

Collaboration across Europe

Collaboration is central to EVERY1’s approach. The Ecosystem Network connects energy communities, local authorities and cluster organisations to strengthen capacity-building activities and support impactful engagement in the energy landscape.

In parallel, the Market Enablers Network facilitates exchanges with policymakers, regulators and DSOs, addressing digital energy challenges and fostering best practices for flexible, resilient energy markets.

Partnerships driving the Energy Transition

The EVERY1 consortium brings together 11 partners from 7 European countries, combining expertise in energy, education, social sciences and digital innovation. By fostering collaboration across sectors, the consortium aims to create lasting networks and ensure the widespread uptake of capacity-building materials produced within the project.

Through these combined efforts, EVERY1 is making the digital energy transition more inclusive, equipping stakeholders across Europe with the knowledge and skills required to play an active role.
