The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) officially established on 15 February 2021, started its activities on 1 April 2021 in order to implement parts of certain EU programmes. 

CINEA plays a key role in supporting the EU Green Deal, which is a flagship initiative by the European Commission, through the efficient and effective implementation of its different delegated programmes. These all contribute in a complementary manner to the achievement of the objectives set out in the EU Green Deal.
